More appeal

Hallo,

Is the following sentence right? “I like to go to the mountains but the sea has more appeal for me?”

Thanx!

Top answer

” I would put a comma after "mountains", and also the question mark that you have typed as part of the sentence should not be there. Apart from this, the sentence is correct English, but content-wise it seems slightly unsatisfactory, in my opinion. The impression we get from the first part of the sentence has to be somewhat rethought when we read the second part, which makes for slightly awkward reading.
