Celebrities are playing an ever greater role in modern culture and consumption patterns, affect the way of life and public opinion of the people around the world. For that reason, they can create trends which is followed by everyone, especilly movie stars, singers and sports personalities. In my opinion, I think this trend is both possitive and negative.
Firstly, celebrities can use their image to help people and call for the sponsorship. More orphaned children will be more supported if celebrities use their fame to spread the poor situations. This also polish the name of that celebrity, making them a shining example for everyone.
Secondly, young people would set them as a role model and do good things in imitation of their idol. For example, if someone idolises Bill Gates, he will raise money for Bill Gates's charity organisations. Furthermore, celebrities who show intergrity in their personal lives such as obeying the laws, and honoring their relationships are possitive role model for young people.
Besides, being the good role models, there are also negative ones. Teenagers are the most susceptible ages to the external environment, they can't distinguish between good and bad so mostly, they are the ones who intimate the bad habit of their idols. Obsess about being cool, teenagers do everything they saw celebrities dis such as drinking alcohol, racing on roads, using drugs or even comitting suicide.
Amongst the focus of social media, celebrities nowadays have no space to take care of themselves and their families. Every moment they appear on society, they become a target for the army of paparizzi. Their stories will be exaggerated by journalists in order to make them more famous or crush their image.
In conclusion, celebrities are very popular and they could choose to help the world and make a difference. They have an opinion to choose to be a good role model for all ages.
