More and more companies are allowing employees to work from home. Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

In recent days, with the advancement of virtual platforms, both employees and managers can work out of their homes. I support the idea that this development brings a number of merits that are far more significant than some drawbacks.

To begin with, working from home helps commuters save lots of time, which means that they do not ought to travel to the company, especially in many rush hours. Suppose workers are stuck in traffic, they will be punished by cutting their salary, for example. In addition, once employees working at their homes, they will not use the vehicles. Hence, we can lessen the amount of pollution in the city by working from home. Finally, we can see that working remotely makes people spend more time with family or take care of little children. Consequently, the emotional attachment is increased among the members.

On the other hand, I opine that this expansion brings about a number of potential risks. First of all, let’s assume that not all workers have the opportunity to work such as advanced laptops or weak networks. These reasons can discourage productivity. Moreover, seeing colleagues through the screen leads to less socializes and contact with physical people. They merely concentrate on their tasks, so commuters may not get along with others. At last but not least, there are not as many rules as in the factory, so employers cannot control their employees. Some workers do not have a strong work ethic, they can be lazy or not complete the professional task. As such, the process of the company will be declined.

To summary, I am of the opinion that the benefits of doing tasks at home easily overshadow the probable limitations. The leaders should establish new laws in order to be better for all workers and managers.
