Hi,Clive. Thank you for your response. In India, more particularly in Tamilnadu, one of the Indian states, people traditionally mop their front yards of their houses with cow dung, which is believed to have curative powers.

Hi,

I see.

The courtyard of my house is now mopped with cow dung.

or

The courtyard of my house is now mopped up with cow dung.

Both versions are OK. The 'up' just adds a bit of informal emphasis.

eg clean up, wipe up, tidy up.
