Monrovia

The city of Monrovia in Liberia has undergone terrible troubles these last years and the city has a name which evokes all sorts of awful things. The city was originally named after US President James Monroe and deserves a new name to divest itself of the bad things that happened there and evoke pleasantness, capability and beauty. Nevertheless, it should also echo its previous US reference. Therefor, I propose that the city should be renamed after Marilyn Monroe and be henceforth known as "Monrovia".

Yes. That was what happened when The Man(hattan) seized control of the City of Brooklyn (Largest City in America?) in 1898.

USA? Well, there were some idealists, but then there's New York, Virginia, the Carolinas, and of course Georgia, which was settled for the same reason Australia was.
