"monocle for right eye" vs "monocle for a right eye"

"a monocle for right eye"

Does "right eye" need an article here?

If is does/doesn't, please also tell me the reason.

Thanks!

Yes, it does need an article because "eye" is a singular countable noun. Contrast with, say, "a jar for water", where "water" is (in this sense) a non-countable noun, so an article is not needed.

Yes, you need an article here because "eye" is a singular countable noun. Compare with, say, "a jar for water", which doesn't need an article because "water" is (in this sense) an uncountable noun.
