Vocabulary

money we earn

Which of these would you match with the definition "the annual income of someone in a professional job"
wages earnings pay salary

According to my dictionary, wages are paid weekly and salaries, monthly. I think both earnings and pay are very general. What do you think? Thanks in advance.

I would agree with your dictionary. Professionals get salaries. Your salary is how much you earn over a year (your salary is £xx,*** per annum) and it is paid out monthly.
