Hi, what does 'Mom gossip' mean?

Thanks.

Where did you read it? Could you give the complete sentence and a little git of context? It's not a standard idiom.

Hi GG,

Here is the context:

Susan mentioned that she heard "Mom gossip" that Tom had moved in with his mother, and that James was not happy about it and moved out.

Thanks.

I hope someone with a better answer will come by, because all I can do is guess that it means the conversations shared by moms.

I agree - I think this refers to the gossip exchanged by mothers of children the same age, who often meet regularly for short periods (e.g., picking up their children from school) and chit-chat. I think the phrase also may carry the implication that the source is not entirely reliable - as a story is passed from mom to mom, it may grow and change
