Modify or modifies

Hi teachers,

Coordinate adjectives are adjectives in a row that each separately modify the noun that follows.

Should it be "modifies" in this sentence since "each" is the subject?

Thanks

  • This is one of those situations like "none of them is"/"none of them are", where "is" is considered correct, but almost everybody says and writes "are" anyway.
