I would like to know if I can use for a model which has been invented by a person the following expression: a model by "the name of the person"

I'm not sure how qualified I am to give a definitive answer. As a question of English I don't see why not, although a particular context might make something like "designed by" or "devised by" appropriate.
Whether this is the correct jargon in your field, though, I have no idea.
