I have a few problem with modal verbs and how to use them. For example this sentence: "Certain things should be carried in your bag"
How do you use "carried" here? As a participle or some kind of passive verbform? Could you actually change the sentence to different kind of times, like:
"Certain things should have been carried..."
"Certain things should had been carried..."
"Certain things should will be carried..." (sounds wrong, but why?)
How could you say the sentence above in simple past tense?
I am a little bit confused because of the infinitive "be" in the sentence - this sounds like "carried" is used rather as an adjective phrase and not as a time form. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say

Thank you
(I would be very grateful for a good english website explaining the propper use of modal verbs)
