Essay & Composition Writing

Modal verb and verb usage and its negation

I would like to know what this structure exactly means. To me it causes misunderstanding.

But, anyway, I 'm inclined to accept meaning 2.

I really need your help. Thank you so much!

S: We should not let our work take over our lives and relax a little.

Meaning 1: We should not let our work take over our lives and (shoud) relax a litte.

Meaning 2. We should not let our work take over our lives and (should not) relax a little.
