Mock cheers

THe sight of Zinkoff tilting, tottering, lurching, falling, brings howls of laughter and mock cheers from the sidelines.

Hi,

Does "mock cheers" in the above mean "cheers that aim to laugh at people?" Thanks.

I think you have the right idea. Cheers are usually supportive, but these cheers are insincere. The people on the sidelines are mocking Zinkoff, not supporting him.
