Mock

He is mocking my height. Vs. he is making fun of my height. Exactly the same?

I heard the meaning of mock is to laugh at somebody or something by doing what they do or what they say, so how could you mock somebody's height? I don't get it.

Mocking might involve imitating, but it doesn't have to. It could just be making fun of or ridiculing something or someone. The idea of the two sentences is pretty much the same.
