Hi, do you see anything bad about having mixed tenses in a sentence or in sentences beside one another?

I also sent an invitation and have asked them if they would be willing to come.

No, I don't see anything bad about it. There should be a good reason to mix tenses, but that doesn't mean that you should never do it. Sometimes a mix of tenses is the only way to get your point across.
