Mixed tense sentence

Hi,

I have a problem with mixed tense sentence. Like "I think you missed the point that I don't like her" I used "Think" and "Missed" shouldn't it be "I thought you missed the point that I don't like her"

Can someone explain to me how mixed tense sentences work? Because I always feel I made a grammar mistake when forming a sentence with a different tenses.

Hello, Mercyful-- and welcome to English Forums. You can mix tenses if each refers appropriately to the action represented: I think ( now ) you missed ( yesterday ) the point that I don't ( now ) like her.

Thanks for your reply, but can you please explain more? Emotion: embarrassed or provide me with links/lessons for this?

There are no links or lessons that I know of. It is basic grammar in any language: in all normal constructions, the verb tense should match the time of the action.
