Mixed conditional sentence

Hi,

here´s a little part of a song

"Would you mind if I throw it all away for now
give up what I still havent found
let it be and go back home"

I was wondering about the conditional and a sense of the sentence.. what does the author mean? What would the difference if the sentence sounded this way "Would you mind if I THREW it all.." ?

Thanks Emotion: smile
