Misunderstandings in grammar(example)

I need a good example of why proper grammar and punctuation usage is necessary. Preferably a sentence.

A woman without her man is useless.

Does it mean:
  1. A woman, without her man, is useless.
  2. A woman: without her, man is useless.
(In case you are wondering, number one is grammatically correct but number two is both grammatically and factually correct.)

I think it's obvious that this is a mess without punctuation.
