Mister Micawber

Would you punctuate these interrupted quotes as I've done below?
I placed the comma inside the introductory quotes (after 'I' and 'that'). Or should the comma go outside in each?

'That,' he said, 'would be an egregious mistake on your part.'

'I,' Matt said, 'am taking next weekend off.'

Mister Micawber, what would be your personal preference with these? Would you place the comma inside or outside of the introductory quotations? Thank you very much.
