Mistakes?

Should I write behaving nicely, delivering some bread, or that way it's okay?

The German military moved into the city and behaved nicely, delivered some bread and food.

"Nicely" is imprecise at best, and it actually sounds quite unlikely. I would change "delivered" to "delivering". Bread is food.
