Misspell

Question

- What verb do you use when someone write a word incorrectly? eg: "favorte", it should be "favorite". Is it like this?

"I cannot stand it when people constantly misspell lots of words when they write emails"

You can misspell a word, or you can make a typo.

When I write "your" and I mean "you," I haven't made a spelling mistake, but a typing mistake.

On the other hand, I really am a terrible speller, always confusing the endings of words like indepedent/independant. I can never remeber which it is. That mistake is a spelling mistake.

The example you gave is a typing mistake. Spelling it faverite is a spelling mistake.

(Then there's writing things like "won" instead of "one," not because you don't know which word means what, but because you're typing very quickly and you "hear" the words in your head and your fingers type automatically what they hear. I don't think people who type slowly make this type of mistake very often.)
