Mission Statement Grammar

I recently facilitated a goal-setting session at my work. There was some controversy over the phrasing - perhaps someone can help me. What is the correct usage? "We are committed to actively support the veterans ...." or "We are committed to actively supporting the veterans ..."
Thanks for your help.
