missing words; turned into evil/turned into a evildoer

The main character is followed home by a cat turned into evil.

The main character is followed home by a cat turned into a evildoer.

Questions,

Are the sentences correct ? If they are, is there any difference between them ?

Are there words missing between " cat" and " turned " ? My suspection on the missing words is " which was turned or that was turned."

Why they always leave out a noun clause and put a particple instead ? To me, it seemed when I saw the sentence that the word " turned " acted like a past verb if I did not know the noun clause has been replaced by a participle.

Why can I not use " was turned " in the missing words ? Is it because you cannot you " was turned " except " had been turned " ?

Can I say ?

Hi again,

Why can I not use " was turned " in the missing words ? You asked if you could say 'was turned' and I said 'Yes'. I didn't say 'No'. The reason I suggested Past Perfect was that it more clearly shows that 'the turning into Evil' was before 'the following'.

Can I say ?

I was turned
