Missing Word

I was working on some TOEIC listening practices. And one of the answers in a "Photos" test says the following sentence.

"The tanker is dry dock."

It sounds weird to me because I think there must be some words missing. I think it should be:

"The tanker is in a dry dock."

I am not sure if my thinking is correct. Please help.

You are right - I can't make 'the tanker is dry dock' make sense. You could use 'the tanker is in dry dock' if you're not referring to the specific location of a/the dry dock. Also, you could say that the tanker is DRY DOCKED.
