Miss vs miss out on

Hi, I have somethings in need of clarification, so you would be appreciated to get them out.

1. miss vs miss out on

- Try not to miss the core of what needs to be addressed.

Can I replace it with miss out on in this case? what is the difference between those two in their

meanings?

2. Does the sentence below make sense? (in respective of the usage of '' keep up'')

- keep up our way to get things done.

3. Does play on make sense( I saw this used by natives) and is work on to be replaced for it?

- it plays on our emotions.

4. In regard to '' drag''

is it okay to use drag in this way?

- Things dragged me to go to the party.

sorry to bother you with many questions but they are what I really want to know.

Thanks

It depends on the context.

Don't bother to cry. Your tears won't work on me. Your tears wil have no success. This is fine,

She is playingg on me.
