Mirror

A vain person is one who likes looking in a mirror.
A vain person is one who likes looking in the mirror.

Is either 'a mirror' or 'the mirror' possible? I lean towards 'the mirror', but 'a mirror' doesn't sound horrible to me.

They are both fine grammatically, but looking in the mirror would be the more usual way to phrase it.
