Mint

Hi,

What do you call the cool feeling you get when you have a mint?

I want to describe the cool sensation I feel and how it sort of 'airs out' my nose. I was told that ‘air out’ isn’t right which is what I thought.

I wasn’t, however, given an alternative.

Thank you so much.

Around here (Middle Atlantic, USA), we say it clears your sinuses. "Air out" is indeed not for that. We air out our pillowcases by hanging them outside on a clothesline.

There is no specific term that is always used for this. You could say cool or refreshing. You could also say that it clears your nose.
