Minor degree!

Does anyone know what minor degree is? is it something like associate degree? what is the difference between a minor degree and a major degree?

Hi, I don't know these terms. However, I believe that in N. America, students taking their first degree normally study two (or more) subjects.

I don't know these terms.

However, I believe that in N. America, students taking their first degree normally study two (or more) subjects. Perhaps this is related to your question?

eg My minor subject was economics, and my major was (or I majored in) political science.

We also speak of first degrees / undergraduate degree

Hi, an associate degree offered by a university to graduates of college if they attend night school classes at the university. Its mostly referred to as a collaborative degree between a university and a local college. A minor is pretty much a unit of study on the side, sort of. A major degree is the concentration you choose for a college degree. A minor degree is a different concentration for a second degree not as predominant. A major degree usually requires 81 credits whereas a minor degree usually requires 24-27 credits. So for instance I have a BS in Media Communications and a Minor Degree in Business Management.
