When should I use 'of' after a quantity like 'thousands' or 'millions'
I understand that, when there is a specific amount, the quantity should be singular and 'of' shouldn't be used. E.g. 'five million tons'. Correct?
What if there isn't an specified amount? Should I say: 1. Please report greenhouse gas emissions in millions of tons or 2. Please report greenhouse gas emissions in million tons
Top answer
1. Please report greenhouse gas emissions in millions of tons. ( Millions of tons is a unit of measure.
