Million or millions???

I am so confused..I was taught that we can use only million...but I have found many sentences wherer it was written as "millions". Can somebody please tell me the rule? Is there any?

Hi Anon When used with/as a specific number, use "million": - ten million dollars - four million people If you want to refer very generally to a number that is more than roughly two million or more, you can use "millions": - Millions of dollars were spent. - Millions of people watch that TV show every week. - The number of taxpayers affected was in the millions.
