Milestone?

I have just contacted the last company on my list of companies to contact for job vacancies. Am I correct in saying that I have reached an important milestone?

Thanks in advance.

Well, I think you will have reached an important milestone when you get a response from one or more of them and an invitation for an interview.

Hi,

You can say that if you want to.
But a milestone commonly marks a positive step forward. It would sound better to say
eg This morning I received my first offer of an interview. That's an important milestone!'
