Hi teachers,
Could you answer my question please?
If something is mild, what does it mean?
Like, what its degree?
If I ask you to clarify it out of 10. Does it mean half, which means 5, for instance?
Thanks in advance
'mild' is used in a lot of different contexts, and it seems to me it can be anywhere from 3 to 8 in degree. Here are some ideas from the MacMillan dictionary. a mild illness or injury is one that is not serious a mild feeling or expression is one that is not very strong or severe a mild punishment or criticism is not very severe mild weather is warm and pleasant, especially warmer than usual for the time of year mild food does not have a strong taste mild drugs, cosmetics, etc.
