Reading the sentence above, I don't understand what the meaning of 'might not they' is.

It's just a tag ending, serving the same purpose as doesn't it, aren't we, didn't he, don't I, meaning "is that not true?". It looks a little odd because of the auxiliary verb 'might'. I have a feeling that the British use this structure with 'might' more than Americans do.
