Dear all,
I would like to know the meaning of the following sentences.
1.He might have turned off the light.
2.He would have turned off the light.
Thanks in advance
(1) means it is possible that he turned off the light, but it is not known for sure. It can also, if said in an accusing way, express the speaker's annoyance that he did not turn off the light. (2) can express the speaker's belief or assumption that he did turn off the light.

(2) can express the speaker's belief or assumption that he did turn off the light. It could also express a hypothetical, e.g. imply a conditional. It depends on context.
