Might have not known?

Jack wasn’t at the meeting. He might have not known about it.


To me, "might have not p.p." is incorrect English. Negation 'not' ought to be placed right after a modal verb. I don't understand why Many people believe that "Might have not" vs. "might not have" can have distinct meanings.
