Michelle wonders if John has been leading her on all the time.

Michelle wonders if John has been leading her on all the time. It seems that she doesn't really know John after all.

In the first place, does the bolded line sound valid and make sense?

Could I replace after all with at all without altering its meaning? Thanks.

Hi AH, I think that the bolded line will make sense if you introduce a comma before all the time. I think that after all is not correct and that you can replace after all with at all.
