I've got a vocabulary notebook and when I come across a potentially useful new word or phrase I write the definition and some examples. If it's a difficult word to pronounce I make a note of its pronunciation too. I also leave a line space between each entry in case I want to add more information at a later date.

  • I put words in categories: Free time, Sports, animals, clothes, body...
  • I use a loose-leaf 'personal organiser' as my vocabulary notebook because new pages can be inserted when I run out of space in each category.

Record yourself reciting new vocabulary (English + translation) on a cassette tape. Keep the cassette in your Walkman and listen to it before you go to sleep.
