Method or way

"I know ways to operate the machine"

Can I say "I know methods to operate the machine" for the same meaning? So my question is whether 'method' can be interchangeable with 'way' here or in other contexts? Thank you so much as usual in advance.

The substitution generally works, but the sentence is not natural. I know several [different] ways/methods to operate this machine. Additionally, we normally use the infinitive with "ways" and the gerund with "methods": There are different ways to do this.
