Metaphysical/metaphysics

This may sound like a directionless request. I've looked this word up but am not sure if I understand it correctly. Can someone, using their own words, help me understand it better? Examples will give furthur clarity if you feel inclined to offer a few, I'd really appreciate that. Thanks in advance.

Raen I couldn't agree with you more. By the way, is it a quote or you're stressing you opinion on it?
To be honest, neither. It's just that the other point of view is ****** hard to defend in plain language.

I recall that in in highschool senior English we got a dose of metaphysicians to last a lifetime. After we got through with Geoffrey Chaucer
