Metaphor VS analogy

Is it correct to say that 'metaphor' is a type of 'analogy'?

This one gave me pause, but, I guess, one could say that. Although in metaphor, one is comparing unlike things, one is doing it because of what one finds similar in the unlike things, such as "King Richard was known as the lionheart because he was like a lion in battle." In that metaphor, one is comparing the fierceness of Richard in battle to the fierceness of a lion in battle.
