Metal or metallic wire

Hi,

I am not sure if there is any difference between metal wire and metallic wire? Are they used interchangeably?

When we say metal/metallic wires do we assume they are electrical wires?

What if i am talking about a wire made of metal that i can used to hang a basket of plants?

thanks,

They are both correct. By metal wire, one means a wire made up entirely of metal. By metallic wire, one means a wire made up entirely or partly of metal.

They are almost interchangeable! I wouldn't notice the difference though, they drove me to the same conclusion. It is a wire whose material is solid, mineral and comes from a melting process.

In general "metal" and "metallic" are not used interchangeably.

It's kind of redundant to talk about "metallic wire" since wire, pretty much by definition, is metal. In fact I can't think of a case where something called wire would not
