met a woman who comes from Germany

What do you think of the sentence "While I was traveling in India, I met a woman who comes from Germany."? (Of course, what I mean here is "the lady's nationality is Germany.")

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that native speakers usually say "While I was traveling in India, I met a woman who came from Germany."

In a case like this, should we use the present tense, or the past tense?

I believe your sentence is the one native speakers would use.

Do you mean the sentence "While I was traveling in India, I met a woman who comes from Germany."?

If so, do you feel the sentence "While I was traveling in India, I met a woman who came from Germany." unnatural?
