Animal lovers report the development of forms of inter-species communication that actually work. Psychic messages from pets seem to be received from time to time. Pets lost or inadvertantly left behind during a move often appear at the door of the new residence, hundreds or even thousands of miles away.
I understand these are people who from time to time receive psychic messages from animals. But does this have anything to do with the following sentence? It seems to me it isn't?
Thanks

The author speaks of inter-species communication so maybe we receive messages from animals and they also receive them from us that's why they can find our homes when we move.
That's how I see it. But it's not clearly written in my view.
