My memory falls short, and I only remember that it starts with 'eu' or something . . .

Euthanasia means either painlessly putting to death or failing to prevent death from natural causes in cases of terminal illness or irreversible coma. The term comes from the Greek expression for "good death."

The word is : Euthanasia
There are two types in euthanasia;
1.Active euthanasia - Ending the life of a patient by injecting a drug.
2.Passive euthanasia - Permitting doctors to withdraw life-support to a terminally ill patient.
