Menu for he software Report / Data Export is bad idea?
English is not my native language.
I create a software. One tool of the software creates the reports or export data, all in one dialog box.
I need to create a menu item for this tool. And this menu item must have both words: report and export. Because the problem is that some people call it as "report" and others as "export". I just want to combine it. The people looking for a way to export will see the word they are looking for, and the people looking for a way to make a report will see the word they are looking for.
I want to use Report / Data Export as the menu item. So the menu will looks like:
Tools -> Report / Data Export
But I cannot understand, this variant looks like noun + noun or verb + noun or something else?
This is bad idea?

I don't think you really need to include both words. For one thing, they rhyme and it sounds awkward. "Export Data" alone would be fine--the Report crowd will figure it out.

I once created a website (with an interfaced based on a well known e-commerce site), and I had a man tell me he couldn't figure out how to use it (and he claimed he had a degree in Computer Science!).

If Report is verb, maybe Report in this context has an implied 'create' attached to it?
Maybe the right variant is Create Report / Export Data, verb / verb?
But it is a little bulky.

"Report" can be a noun, the same as "export" can be a noun. For example, the "exports" of a country.
I would suggest "export data" is fine. Many programs simple have "export" as the option. Simply having "report" is fine, and it can be interpreted as either "create report" or "report [something about the data to me]" ... it essentially means the same thing.
