An author of a certain book writes about coping with fear, eliminating fear. At one point the author says:
When you are finished dealing with each fear or blockage, finish killing it off by mentally seeing it dissipate. You can do this in several ways. You can see it fade away and vanish; mentally draw an X through it; allow it to sink harmlessly into the earth etc.
Does "X" above mean "X rays"? So X rays should go through the fear and ... burn it?

"X" here means crossing it out. Like when a teaches puts a huge cross across a wrong answer. You mentally draw a cross over it, you delete it.
