Hello, sirs, Seemingly the term "Mental Facilities" can mean two things. 1. =mental institution: as in "abuses and practices in public mental facilities" 2. = cognitive abilities: as in " impaired in terms of mental facilities if the left temporal lobe of the brain is damaged"

Mental Facilities are definitely places where mental health is treated. Mental faculties are those cognitive abilities you speak of. This is the power or skill of your brain.
I would rather use mental faculties when referring to mental features or inherent strengths or weaknesses of the mind and leave the word facilities to describe a place that may treat people who have mental problems. Randy
