Mend one's ways

Hello,

What do you think is the best word for the gap in the sentence:

The president threatened to take action against the newspapers if they didn’t mend their .......

A.wrongs B.ways C.errors D.manners

I think this is an idiom: 'mend one's ways', and no other answers are possible in this context. Thank you.

I don't know if this is another case of a regional difference here but I've never heard "mend one's manners." Where I'm from it's "mind one's manners" with the verb "mind" meaning "be careful of"
