Memorize vs remember

Hi Everyone,

My question is "for the words memorize and remember, can I use them interchangeably?".

Take these for example:

I have to memorize all these questions and answers to get a good score on the exam.

Or

I have to remember all these questions and answers to get a good score on the exam.

Which one is correct? and Do they have the same meaning?

As I understand it to "memorise" is to commit to memory and "remember" is to recall what one committed to memory.
