Grammar

me/I

Hello,

I'm a bit confused when to use me and I.

Example:

I'm on the way to town now.

Yeah, me to.

That's how I hear it but should't it be actually like this: Yeah, I'm too.

That's how I hear it sometimes on TV...

I'm really confused. Could someone clear that up for me, please?

kind regards,

zagguf

Or: - I'm on the way to town now. - So am I. I guess "me too" is spoken, that's all.

Ruslana has it just right.

It's far more common to hear "me too" in informal conversation. But you are correct that strict rules of grammar would have you saying "I am too."

(Also, we don't use the contraction "I'm" as a full sentence. I'm happy, I'm looking forward to that, I'm sure of this, but not just "I'm" - adding the "too" doesn't change that. And finally, remember that
